Joining a gym can be a great way to meet your fitness goals. Essential Elements of a Mens Fitness Routine

Building a strong chest, a wide back and rock solid arms cannot be done with workouts using the tiny pink dumbbells sitting at the far end of the rack. To build the body you really want, you need to put together a sound resistance and cardio plan – a mens fitness plan.

You want a good mix of compound movements that will hit all of the major muscle groups – keep in mind that the heavier the weights are that you use, the bigger and stronger your body will get, so if your main goal is packing on lean muscle, that you will need to pile on the weight plates. Squats, power cleans, deadlifts and overhead presses are all good muscle building movements for a mens fitness routine to be built upon. You can add isolation movements to your routine as well to put more focus on certain areas of your body that may need additional work, but if you hit the compounds movements hard enough it may not even be necessary.

Now that you’ve got the muscle building portion of your fitness routine set, you’ll need to burn the fat from your beer belly to complete the look. Choose your cardio wisely, rather than sitting on a stationary bike, pumping at a moderate pace for 45-60 minutes you might want to do some high intensity interval training.

With HIIT, the cardio portion will be wickedly intense and incredibly effective – you want to pick your exercise (stationary bike, stair climber, etc.) and perform for sixty seconds at near maximum effort. Follow up with a short rest of 45-60 then repeat the cycle for eight to ten rounds. In less than twenty minutes you’ll have melted away more fat than you would have in a 60 minute session of “spinning.”

Building the perfect mens fitness plan requires plenty of focus and hard work, but if your resistance plan is solid and your HIIT cardio is intense, you will be able to build the body of your dreams in as little time as possible.

Men looking to lose a few pounds, grow larger arms and legs, or even develop a great looking six-pack set of abs have plenty of options available to them without even having to leave the house.
